Bitlord Editor's Review BitLord is a simple but powerful way to use torrents: a way of filesharing that involves files being split into lots of tiny pieces and then reassembled on your machine (think Mike TeeVee in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory!) The beauty is that you can get different pieces from different sharers, meaning the whole thing runs more smoothly. There are numerous applications for handling torrents, but BitLord does a great job of making things simple while still giving you as much control as you want.
For those fresh to torrenting, the most useful feature is a built-in search engine that saves you having to hunt through countless websites. There's even a useful rating system so you know the files are what they claim to be. Unlike some torrent applications, BitLord has a feature known as intelligent hashing. What that means for you is that if you close or pause the application, you can come back later and start downloading again straight away without having to wait through a tedious file checking process. The only real downside BitLord has compared with other applications is nothing to do with torrenting: there are a couple of links to online gaming and adult video chat services that might be off-putting. That said, they aren't obtrusive and you certainly aren't obliged to use the links!
Pros: simple to get up and running, widespread options for advanced users; Cons: Adult links may offend some users; On-screen layout could be made a little clearer and intuitive; Conclusion: One of the oldest torrent applications still in use, and for good reason: ideal for beginners and experts alike. Flexera have told me that they have no plans to release an InstallShield 2017 Limited Edition and if anyone wants to continue to use InstallShield they will need to purchase InstallShield 2016 Express (or greater) and that this is compatible with VS2017. I have tested this and it seems to work fine. I have also asked when InstallShield 2017 is being released as it usually comes out around the end of May but not getting any useful information.
This may not be the answer people are wanting but it doesn't sound very promising for a Limited Edition version with VS2017. Hi Grace, Thank you for your update. InstallShield Limited Edition has not been announced yet for VS 2017. As I mentioned in my first reply, the current version is for VS 2015: In general, integration of installers with Visual Studio through project templates is inexistent, weak or outdated.
Alternatively you can use any other installer technology (InnoSetup, WiX, etc.) and use MSBuild to launch the installer command-line executable as part of the build of your project. This is using in my Visual Studio 2015 Professional. But I need use in Visual Studio 2017 Professional. Is there InstallShield Limited Edition for Visual Studio 2017? Or already build in Visual Studio 2017? Or I still need to download and install it like VS2015 does? Or InstallShield Limited Edition for Visual Studio 2017 is not ready at this moment?
I don't know is this a bug of VS2017 or I missing some step during installation. Hi Grace, Thank you for your update. InstallShield Limited Edition has not been announced yet for VS 2017.
